The first trailer for Halo Infinite Season 2 is revealed

Developer 343 Industries has just revealed the first trailer for Season 2 of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer offering. The trailer provides a glimpse of the new content coming to the game with Season 2, officially known as Lone Wolves, on May 3. That content includes limited-time events, modes like King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing, and a new battle pass. Much like Season 1, this battle pass will never expire.

The trailer shows off a brief cutscene featuring an injured Spartan arriving at the training grounds used in the multiplayer tutorials. It also showcases the two new maps that players will get to experience. Catalyst will be a new Arena map, while Breaker will be a map available in Big Team Battle.

In a post on Twitter, Brian Jarrard, community director at 343 Industries, confirmed that “everything in this teaser trailer is part of the s2 Battlepass.” Although, he then went on to say that “one shoulder made it in [the] trailer that’s not in the pass.” Players who were worried about the cosmetics being locked behind a paywall can breathe a sigh of relief.

A brighter future for Halo Infinite

Last week, 343 Industries posted an Outcomes Report to discuss the changes made based on player feedback from Season 1. Yesterday, they wrote another post to discuss new details regarding the “Live Team’s responsibilities.”

The report is lengthy, but it contains important information for the Halo faithful. 343 Industries plans to add more customization content to the battle pass compared to Season 1. The Season 2 premium battle pass will also let players earn 1000 CR to use as they see fit. Weekly ultimate rewards will be “higher value cosmetics such as visors, coatings, and stances.” That means no more grinding for backdrops or emblems. Finally, 343 Industries will be “incrementally moving to a model that has coatings and visors working across all cores.” This should allow players to have a little more freedom with customization.

It’s no secret that Halo fans have been disappointed with the lack of new content and updates with Halo Infinite. However, these detailed responses to player feedback are commendable, and will hopefully result in a better roadmap for Halo Infinite beyond Season 2.
